There are 3 main steps to the application process:
1. Completing and returning all of the forms
Application forms may be obtained by filling out the Request Information form on the website or by calling the school at 310-643-7377. The application includes a section to be filled out by parents, a section to be filled out by students, including essay questions, recommendation forms for current teachers, and a transcript release form.
2. Coming in for a personal interview
A member of the Admissions Staff will meet separately with parent(s) and then with the student. The purpose of the interview is not only to get acquainted, but also to discuss more fully what Vistamar School has to offer and to answer any questions that you might have.
3. Taking the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
The Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) is the common admissions test adopted by several area independent schools. If you are applying to several schools, you only need to take the test once and then have your scores sent to each of the schools.
All registration and test administration is handled by ERB, a national testing service, so you’ll need to register directly with them. You may register to take the test on-line at www.iseetest.org or call ERB directly at 1-800-446-0320.
While you can take the exam at any of the sites, we’ll be administering the ISEE at Vistamar School on Saturday, November 10, 2008, Saturday, December 6, 2008, Saturday, January 31, 2009 and Saturday, April 18, 2009. When registering on-line to take the exam at Vistamar, choose "Other Testing Sites" and then "El Segundo" after you've selected "California" as the state. Make sure that your score is sent to Vistamar School by entering the school code 054327 in item #7 (reports to schools) on the registration form.
