Vistamar School, an independent high school in the South Bay region of greater Los Angeles, opened in September 2005 and will continue to expand its enrollment over the next several years. The founding trustees and faculty are committed to a school that is forward looking and accessible, combining first-rate academics, caring relationships, and a global perspective in the curriculum. We are seeking experienced, innovative educators to join in the continuing development of the school.
Requirements of the positions include strong academic preparation, cultural awareness, and a willingness to take on complex and varied assignments. Experience with curriculum development, collaborative teaching, authentic assessment, and student advising are highly desirable. Summer work in preparation for the academic year will be required. Compensation and benefits are competitive for independent schools in the region.
THE PROCESS
All positions for the 2008/2009 school year have been filled. Applications for 2009/2010 will be accepted through June 2009 and interviews will be conducted on site and at the NAIS conference in Chicago in late February.
