Oscar joined the Vistamar community in July 2019 and is beyond thrilled to be here. Prior to coming to Vistamar, he was one of the Associate Directors of Admission
at his alma mater,
Harvard-Westlake School. In that role, he led the office’s Student Ambassadors Program, worked closely with Spanish-speaking families, spearheaded outreach to schools in underserved areas of Los Angeles, and served as the liaison for Community Based Organizations.
Oscar has worked in the Admissions field ever since he graduated from college. Before taking on independent school admissions, he worked in graduate and undergraduate admissions at the University of La Verne, the University of Southern California, and Bates College.
He earned his B.A. in English with a focus on African-American literature from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. In 2016, he received a Business Certificate from UCLA Extension.
During his personal time, Oscar can be found playing ice hockey at the Toyota Sports Center, boxing, spending time with his nephews, volunteering in Long Beach or rooting for his Boys in Blue at Dodger Stadium.
