Students Feel Inspired and Connected at Diversity Summit
In early March, a group of Vistamar students attended the Regional Student Diversity Summit, organized by and for students at independent schools, hosted by The Bishop's School. Students learned about social justice and institutional equity in workshops and connected with other students in affinity spaces.
One highlight for all the attendees was hearing education researcher and activist Dr. Bettina Love's keynote address.
What students said:
"I loved being around people with common interests. In the workshop, everyone took time to share reflections, which was powerful." (Whitney S. '23)
"I thought [Dr. Love] made really fascinating points that I haven't thought of before and found the best words to describe what I was feeling myself!" (Olivia Z. '23)
