Support FAQ

List of 6 frequently asked questions.

  • Q: What is the Vistamar Fund?

The Vistamar Fund is an annual fund that impacts every facet of a student's life at the School. These annual, unrestricted gifts are the first and most important gifts that help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a Vistamar education. Every year, your gifts allow us to direct funds to the School's greatest needs and priorities.

  • Q: What are the School's greatest needs and priorities?

Your support is directly invested in our students, our faculty, and our programs. Attracting and retaining a talented student body and faculty are top priorities for the School. The Vistamar Fund allows the school to create a well-rounded academic and extracurricular experience with small class sizes for our students.

  • Q: Who gives to the Vistamar Fund?

Our goal is always that 100% of our parent body, faculty and staff, and board of trustees make a gift at whatever level they are able.  Each gift regardless of size makes an impact on every student at the School. Over the years, Vistamar has received gifts from nearly 800 donors, including trustees, parents, employees, grandparents, friends of the School, corporations, philanthropic foundations, and vendors.

  • Q: Why should parents give to Vistamar?

A gift to Vistamar School directly impacts your child's education and shows your commitment to the program.  Not only does every dollar donated strengthen the program and allow for the class size and attention that makes Vistamar special, but it also is an important factor when requesting money from outside organizations.  The participation percentage in the Vistamar Fund is viewed as a direct barometer of the parent confidence and satisfaction.  If our own parents didn’t invest, why would someone outside of our community?

  • Q: What is Vistamar's matching gift program?

You can maximize your charitable contribution to Vistamar through a special benefit many companies offer their employees: the matching gift program. Through matching gift programs, many companies allow employees the opportunity to multiply the impact of their personal contributions. If your company sponsors a matching gift program, you can easily increase the impact your gift will have on students, faculty, and programs at Vistamar. For more information, contact your employer's Human Resources.

  • Q: Is my gift tax-deductible?

Vistamar School is qualified by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. As such, contributions are deductible to the full extent of the law, and the School will affirm that no part of your contribution was provided in exchange for goods or services. Vistamar School's 501(c)(3) Federal Taxpayer Identification Number is 14-1841085.
