WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
COMMUNITY, SOCIAL, AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS
PAVE Hospitality - Parents on the Patio and/or other PAVE events - Parents who are interested in supporting Vistamar’s parent hospitality efforts are organized to purchase and bring breakfast foods to Parents on the Patio (POPs) and to provide a spread of refreshments for PAVE meetings.
Faculty Appreciation Luncheons - Coordinate with other parents to prepare food and host a luncheon for Vistamar employees twice a year.
PAVE Speaker Series/Parent to Parent – Work with the PAVE President to identify speakers and provide refreshments for the events, to take place throughout the year.
A Taste of Vistamar - The Taste of Vistamar is a school-wide potluck dinner where we ask all families to bring a dish that represents their family’s background or origin and share in a celebration of food and culture. Parents, employees, students, grandparents, and siblings alike come together to celebrate the community and our diverse cultural backgrounds. For this event there are many things parents can do to help the event run smoothly.
Soulful Celebration / Festival Latina / Mandarin Teahouse – These teacher and student led events are important ways in which the Vistamar community shares and celebrates our diverse cultural backgrounds. An extra hand is always welcome to help staff the events!
Parent Ambassador Program/Open Houses/New Family Welcome – Partner with the Admissions Coordinator and Admissions Office to become a Parent Ambassador to share your knowledge and enthusiasm for Vistamar School with prospective families. Parent Ambassadors will help staff Open Houses, connect with prospective families via phone and email, and help welcome new families to our community. Open House events are held in in October, November, December, January, and May. Ambassadors will also welcome admitted new students and their families to the school in June.
